This is a great recipe for hot or humid weather. It comes together in 2 mixing bowls in a manner of minutes and requires NO COOKING! Woo hoo! This is one of our favorite summertime easy recipes for cooking with cannabis.

For the most part, it requires only pantry staples. However, you will need to buy some dry milk powder, which may be purchased on Amazon. Dry soy milk powder (shown below) is a great vegan alternative.

If you are avoiding corn syrup, Lyle's Golden Syrup may be substituted. It will impart a nuttier flavor, which is lovely in this recipe.

This recipe makes about 35 tootsie rolls


1/4 cup baking cocoa powder

1 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup dry milk powder (soy milk powder will work)

1/4 cup light corn syrup (Golden Syrup May be substituted)

2 tablespoons cannabutter, melted. Link to purchase:

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


2 mixing bowls (1 of them microwave safe)

1 whisk

1 spatula

1 kitchen knife

1 baking sheet

Parchment Paper

Wax Paper candy wrappers


  1. Cut a sheet of parchment paper to fit baking sheet. Apply and put aside

  2. In mixing bowl, combine cocoa powder, powdered sugar and milk powder. Combine with whisk. Set aside.

  3. Microwave cannabutter for 1 minute in the microwave safe mixing bowl. If still not melted, microwave in 15 second intervals until fully melted.

  4. Add corn syrup and vanilla extract to the melted butter. Mix with whisk.

  5. Pour wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients. Stir with spatula until dough comes together and may be formed into a small disc (see reference image below).

  1. Refrigerate disk for 30 minutes

  2. Remove disc from refrigerator. Cut the dough into 1/2-inch slices. Take one slice and roll it into a long, thin rope; cut the rope into 1-inch tootsie rolls.

  3. Transfer the cut tootsie rolls to the baking sheet.

  4. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until you've formed about 35 tootsie rolls. Place the tootsie rolls in the fridge for 1 hour and until firm.

  5. Wrap the tootsie rolls in parchment or wax paper.
